A Walk

I went for a walk late at night, and remembered my connection to all that there is…
I came back inspired with a thousand new thoughts rattling through my head.
Thoughts of expansion & of playing it big.
Thoughts of being authentic and being open to one’s vulnerability.
Thoughts of how my current lifestyle had not been serving my ultimate truth.
Thoughts of how I could drop the social mask and let the soul shine through.
Thoughts of how I could truly commit to giving more back to the world I walk in.
Thoughts of how I could move in the embrace of gratitude every moment of the day.
Thoughts of how I could look at the world though the lens of wonder.
Thoughts of how quickly time is passing, the life, and how much more I really hope to see and achieve.
And finally, thoughts of how big a blessing every life experience, has up till now been

Saintly Faces
As I was researching visual refs for my next short film project ‘Satori’ I stumbled across this beautiful collection of photos on Flickr.
I was struck by the peace and serenity that inhabited the eyes and faces of all these people.
Some are Saints from days gone by, some are modern Monks & Nuns, and some are ordinary everyday folk. But they all hold that beautiful essence of transcendence. So beautifully inspiring….the angels that walk amongst us everyday

The Pearl
Life is beautiful – perhaps it can be compared to a string of magnificent pearls.
Each moment is like an individual pearl – perfect, whole, and complete unto itself.
Yet when you begin to string those beautiful individual moments together, a far greater masterpiece is created – a greater whole.
Learn to see the pearl in each moment, and life will turn out to be the most beautiful pearl necklace…

The Rainbow…
On this Saturday just past, I was caught in the rains.
So heavy it fell, that not even my umbrella could shield me from its force – my boots, dress and coat soon becoming soaked.
Crossing the roads, I leapt across flooded gutters determined to get to my bus stop.
Sitting on the bus, the rains soon subsided, the grey clouds relaxing their grip on the brittle winter afternoon.
As I hopped off the bus, and looked up towards my destination, I was grateful to see a beaming rainbow smiling in the sky.
So captivated I was, that I stood there for several moments, soaking up its beauty. I took out my phone and took some photos to capture the moment.
I noticed the sun, being a little cheeky, playing hide and seek behind the clouds.
And I was reminded, it takes both the sunshine and the rains to make a rainbow. And we must make it through the rains, if we are to be witness to a rainbow.
And so too I feel life is often like this…
When we are caught up in a storm – of emotions, relationship dramas, unfortuitous events, mental anguish – sometimes all that we see is the grey clouds surrounding us.
Though often in time, when the rains subside, and the dramas dissolve, we perceive a clearer insight, in which we see the blessings which have been born through the vexation.
As I reflect back on my own experience, my greatest challenges have all given rise to life’s precious gifts and opportunities – my own personal rainbows….
Life is sacred…
Life is like a rainbow, you need both the sun & the rain to make its colours appear...

On Light…
One afternoon as I stood in my backyard, I was struck by the beauty of the afternoon sun’s rays…
Bathed in the light, I soon got out my camera and became transfixed by the patterns present.
Light refractions remind us of the source presence inherent within all of life.
Look closer… beauty is everywhere
